About the role:
Reporting into the Managing Director, you will be responsible for optimizing the operation, employees and processes of the warehouse/inventory.
Your KPI’s will be based on reviewing your abilities in terms of organising and transacting the receipt of goods, effective storing, picking & packing processes. You will also be responsible for planning and coordinating the flow of all materials from receipt to despatch.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Goods Receiving and warehouse/inventory including general site management duties
• Overall accountability for the receiving and warehouse sections with a focus on collaborative working, training, development, and performance management
• Maintains ERP systems up to date (transactions and maintenance), develops and improves warehouse process flows
• Responsible for the quality control of incoming goods/material and taking appropriate actions including returns to suppliers
• Collaborates closely with Planning/Buying/Production teams to ensure stock levels are constantly monitored in line with Days on Hand data, minimum/maximum stock levels are adhered to, and targets and applicable business KPI’s are met
• Records and reviews material waste and deadstock and adjusts stock levels proactively after consultation / sign off through the wider management team.
• Leads and drives continuous improvement of the warehouse section
• Pick and pack order management with effective communication with our logistics partners
• Adheres to HACCP compliance across health and safety, monitoring incidents/accidents.
• Ensure support is provided to Production, managing stock transfers and accurate data transactions
• Identify staff training and development needs targeting improvements on process management
• Apply effective time and resource management across your team so all critical packing processes are covered. This may involve working occasional weekends, bank holidays and seasonal uplifts. Flexible working will be required.
• Maintain standards of housekeeping and hygiene across the site in line with our company standards
Skills and Qualifications required
Work Experience:
• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment leading a team.
• Previous section / staff management experience ideally within food manufacturing sector.
• Demonstrate efficiency & process flow improvements
• Minimum of 3 years relevant operational experience considering the main duties and responsibilities described
Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)
• Food hygiene knowledge with Health & Safety awareness experience
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel desirable
• Sound analytical & problem-solving skills
• Experience of ERP transactional process (SAP preferred)
