Osborne House is a well established 74 bedded home in the heart of Selby, North Yorkshire. Accommodating care needs of Residential, Nursing and Dementia clients in both the long and short term. If you have a passion for caring for those in need, then look no further, we have a place in our family for you.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both residents and staff. A background in home care or familiarity with care plans is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
- Implement and follow individual care plans to ensure the specific needs of each resident are met.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals to provide updates on care and any concerns that may arise.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for all residents by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Document any changes in residents' conditions or behaviours accurately and promptly.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to IT systems used for record-keeping and communication within the care home.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with residents and team members.
- Ability to understand and implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
- A caring attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for those in your care.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to the evolving needs of the residents.
We have a variety of hours available, whether you want to work full time, part time or somewhere in between. Please note we cannot offer any less than a minimum of two days per week.
