Summary
Are you interested in working in a primary school supporting pupils with challenging behaviour / social and emotional needs? Do you have previous experience supporting children/ young people with mental health or special needs?
Here at New Formation Education, we're working with a number of primary schools across South London who are searching for new support staff to join their teams ASAP.
You will be supporting the class with additional focus on the pupil on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities of the role:
· 1:1 support with a child / children with additional needs (SEMH)
· Differentiate work and adapt the curriculum to fit the pupils' needs
· Academic support and encouraging social integration
· Working alongside the SENCO to come up with rewards and targets to motivate the child with their learning
· Working alongside the teacher and aiding them where necessary
· Embracing the core values and mission statement of the school
· Managing challenging behaviour/ positive behaviour reinforcement
The ideal person will be:
· Patient
· Confident
· Caring
· Proactive
· Reliable
· Willing to take on new responsibilities
· Have a good sense of humour
This is a very rewarding job where your challenging role should lead you to see progress with your assigned pupil.
Previous experience is essential.
This role will also require a DBS check and 2 references.
