Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Abbeyfield Primary Academy is seeking a caretaker to join our staff team. We are looking for someone who enjoys working independently across the school site, including: maintaining lighting, heating, cleaning, maintenance, statutory checks, porterage and handy person duties.

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Is self-directed, flexible and able to work independently
• Is honest and responsible
• Has experience of caretaking or maintenance
• Is committed to working well with colleagues, developing and maintaining positive working relationships.
• Will work between 10am and 6pm during term time with the possibility to work more flexible hours in the school holidays.
• Is keen to learn and develop

It would be desirable to

• Have knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act and COSHH regulations.
• Understand Fire Procedures, Regulations and appropriate safety procedures.

However, this is not essential as training can be provided.
