Summary

Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Surveyor specializing in mould and damp inspections to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in diagnosing and addressing property issues related to damp, condensation, and mould. Experience working with councils, housing associations, or similar housing sectors is essential.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct thorough inspections to identify mould, damp, and condensation issues in residential properties.
• Diagnose the root causes of damp and mould problems, including structural, ventilation, and lifestyle factors.
• Provide detailed reports with findings, recommendations, and remedial action plans.
• Collaborate with contractors, housing officers, and tenants to ensure issues are resolved efficiently and in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Liaise with local councils or housing associations to maintain standards and meet service agreements.
• Offer expert advice on preventing recurrence of damp and mould, including tenant education and property maintenance improvements.
• Ensure compliance with current legislation, including Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and Environmental Health guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills
Essential:
• Proven experience in mould and damp inspection and reporting.
• Strong understanding of building construction, materials, and ventilation systems.
• Experience working with councils, housing associations, or similar professional bodies in the housing sector.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Housing Act, HHSRS, and health and safety regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including contractors and tenants.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel for site visits.
