Summary

Salary: £42000-£45000 per annum
37 hours per week
Annual leave 25 days + all Bank holidays
Able to speak at least one south East Asian language. i.e. Bengali-Sylheti (desirable) due to the needs of the service users

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Residential Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the
Home to ensure professional standards are maintained and fundamental to ensure
services provided to any child his or her welfare is safeguarded and promoted at
all times.
Discovery Home under the Qalb Short Break Services Ltd is a dedicated children’s home of residential short breaks for children and young people with disabilities located in London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Our mission is to create a safe, nurturing environment where every child can thrive. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Residential Manager to lead our children's home and make a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve.
Requirements:
BA,CQSW, CSS or DIPSW in Social Work or Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management or NVQ level 5 or equivalent in Care Management or Registered Nurse qualification.
2 years post qualification working with children and young people with disabilities and complex needs.
Development, Management and Leadership experience in service provision for people with disabilities including people with complex needs.
Good communication and written skills and be computer literate.
Current or previous experience as a registered manager of children’s home. A full understanding of the Children’s Home Regulations 2015. A commitment to a holistic approach to care is essential.
Main duties & responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the children's home, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Lead and manage a team of residential staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans for each child, in collaboration with social workers and other professionals.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and organisational policies.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and external professionals.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to maintain high standards of care.
- Implement best practices in safeguarding and child protection.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of short breaks provided, making improvements as necessary.
- Participate in on-call duties and emergency situations as required.
-To effectively manage residential short break services in Tower Hamlets in line with the guidance of Children’s Home (England) Regulations 2015 and quality Standards.
