Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Disability Co-ordinator who is motivated to support disabled students to succeed within their studies. The role will require the successful candidate to work collaboratively with disabled students to identify their needs, recommend and implement reasonable adjustments and advocate for them across the organisation. You will also support our continued commitment to ensuring Teesside University is an inclusive and nurturing place to study through raising awareness of disability, championing disability rights and supporting our use of evidence-based practice. Are passionate about disability rights and have experience of providing support for disabled people


Have good knowledge of the Equality Act 2010, particularly in the area of disability


Have knowledge and experience recommending and implementing reasonable adjustments


Have good communication skills


Have the ability to work collaboratively to reach positive outcomes for people


Have a compassionate and empathic approach to support


The hours of work are Monday-Friday 8:30-17:00 and 8:30-16:30 on a Friday.



There are three full time posts available at 37 hours with the opportunity for job share.

The position we are filling is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a satisfactory DBS disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required as part of our clearance procedures.


Please be advised that due to the minimum salary thresholds imposed by the UKVI, this post will not qualify for University sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route.
