Summary

Summary of job description:
• Preparing the restaurant for the Asian and Sri Lankan Cousins buffet and takeaway and must have a sound knowledge about the recipes of all the unique Sri Lankan cousins.
• Oversee daily restaurant operations by scheduling, ordering, to ensuring smooth workflows and high service quality.
• Must be prepared to cover any staff shortages during busy hours in the kitchen, restaurant, cafe, take away section or in the front reception or in the dining area.
• Monitor food preparation, presentation, and hygiene standards.
• Work with the head chef to plan English and Sri Lankan food, desserts, beverages menus.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and handle inquiries or complaints professionally.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, food hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
• Organize shifts and rotas for staff and train restaurant staff to maintain a motivated and efficient team.
• Ensure a welcoming and pleasant dining environment for guests.
• Control lighting, background music, linen service, glassware, dinnerware, and utensil quality and placement.

Qualifications
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience in restaurant management.
• Deep knowledge of Sri Lankan cuisine and buffet-style service.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to manage customer relationships and maintain high service standards
• Compliance Knowledge: Thorough understanding of licensing, food hygiene, health, and safety regulations with the ability to enforce compliance effectively.
• Menu Planning: Collaborative experience in designing and updating menus for Sri Lankan and English cuisine, desserts, and beverages in partnership with head chefs.
• Multitasking and Flexibility: Capability to step into various roles during staff shortages, ensuring smooth operations even during peak hours.
