Job Overview

-To protect our customer's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes.

-Delivering results that meet and / or exceed the Key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract.

-To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.

Main Duties

-
-To ensure that you read and adhere to the requirements detailed in the Assignment Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.

-To fully understand the workings the current site roster and highlight any possible staffing shortfalls to the shift manager.

-To provide the highest level of customer service ensuring that all persons either visiting or working at the site are treated courteously and professionally at all times.

-To manage a work environment that adheres to the Health & Safety procedures and policies of Mitie and the client ensuring a duty of care to all persons on the site.

-To ensure that a detailed handover of your post is carried out when being relieved, without exception.

-To respond to all incidents and follow escalation procedures by directing the activities of your team and other staff employed on the contract.

-To continually strive for personnel development, and support management strategic implementation.

-To continually support new initiatives and contribute towards the development of the site in the drive to establish ‘best in business' practices across all Mitie locations.

-Ensure that you attend site at least 15 minutes prior to commencement of shift, thus ensuring the site contract staffing requirements are met (In line with AI's).

-To undertake any mandatory training required on the contract and ensure that you proactively manage your own development plan with the shift manager.

-To actively promote a team ethos ensuring the seamless delivery of exceptional service standards to internal and external customers.

-To act as an ambassador to the client organisation ensuring that their business is represented accordingly in all the duties undertaken by you.

-To be available at short notice to cover sickness or shortfall

Training

-Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.

-To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.

-Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.

-You are required to ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.

Security and Health & Safety

-Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.

-Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.

-Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.

-To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.

-Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.

-Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.

-To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).

-To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.





Candidate profile & experience:

-A minimum of one year's security experience, working within a corporate environment is essential.

-Experience working in a fast-paced environment is essential.

-Previous security experience working in a data centre is advantageous.

-Excellent communication skills are essential, both written and oral.

-Demonstrate proactive and professional approach to security.

-Ability to operate in a pressurised environment.

-Excellent time management skills.

-Smart and presentable.



Professional Qualifications/Education:

-Front Line SIA licence in Security Guarding

-CCTV License (desirable)

-First Aid (desirable)

-Customer service experience

-Excellent time management.
