Summary
Shine a Light Day Nursery is seeking a passionate and qualified Early Years Educator (EY Educator) to join our team on a maternity cover contract starting in January 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurturing and creative individual to make a real difference in the lives of young children.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for a designated group of children, planning and delivering stimulating learning activities that support their development across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
You will create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where children feel happy, secure, and encouraged to explore and learn.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth running of the nursery and maintain clear communication with parents/carers.
You will observe and assess children's progress, documenting their development and sharing this information with parents/carers.
You will contribute to the ongoing development of the nursery environment and resources.
You will maintain a high standard of hygiene and safety within the setting.
Person Specification:
Qualified Early Years Educator with a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
A minimum of 1 year's experience working in an early years setting.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework.
A passion for child development and a commitment to providing high-quality care and education.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and planning skills.
The ability to build positive relationships with children, parents/carers, and colleagues.
A flexible and adaptable approach.
Excellent English language skills (written and verbal).
