Summary

We are recruiting for 7 Teamleaders to oversee the routine operational tasks allocated by the Shift Management through strict adherence to safe systems of work, standard operational procedures and processes within the designated operational area for which they have responsibility for. Providing focus on health & safety, productivity, accuracy and quality by helping to lead the operational shift team by encouraging a team ethic to achieve daily targets for each shift. Following escalation process as necessary.

Operational team leaders are expected to operate as a working team member and conduct tasks in all areas of the warehouse. They will however have a primary designated area of responsibility from a combination of any of the following warehouse disciplines.

• Goods Receiving – Ensuring all processes related to offloading and checking of all inbound goods for quality and damages which may have occurred in transit and completion of designated documentation and where technology exists to do so the entry of data into warehouse management system terminals for accountability.

• Put away – Ensuring that following on from the checking of goods, stock is to be located correctly within the racking or storage locations allocated, updating any warehouse systems - i.e. scanned away if applicable. Reporting and escalating any discrepancy that may be found or reported to the relevant person.

• Order Picking - ensure goods are prioritised for pick based upon the customer promise service level, are selected from the designated locations as per the picking list in the correct quantities, in good condition and collated for the right customer, removing any waste or non-required outer packaging as you go.

• Packing – Collating bulk and single quantity picks ensuring that right stock in the right quantity is collated, packaged and protected appropriately and prepared for loading to reduce risk of damage in transport, and unloading at final point of delivery.

• Dispatch & Loading - All goods are to be checked against the correct dispatch documentation, that loads are marshalled or loaded in the correct order, focusing on customer service level priority, making sure stock is secured to reduce risk of the load being damaged in transit. Completing any data entry requirements into terminals to record outbound movement of stock and paperwork required by drivers for security clearance.

• Operation of MHE & Manual Handling – all members of staff are responsible for ensuring that they and their individual team members operate equipment (only after documented training) in safe manner in line with the operational procedures and conduct manual handling activities within the recommended guidelines and do not place either themselves or others at risk.

• Clean as we go Policy – Every member of staff is responsible for adapting a clean as they go policy to ensure housekeeping standards are maintained, in order to reduce risks from slips trips and falls and develop a sense of pride in their operation

To ensure that they and individuals within their team comply with working practices that result in delivering a clean and safe workplace.

• Reporting – ensure all hourly, daily, and weekly operational figures are captured correctly. All other operational logs, trackers, and reports are completed fully and accurately with commentary where required.

• Ensure all anomalies are up to date on a daily basis, as this affects pay and holiday reporting.
• Review labour requirements with the Shift Manager planning against volumes and activities to produce labour requirements and work schedules to include contingency plans and overtime requirements at known choke points, fluctuations of volumes against forecast and unscheduled events.
• To learn and therefore have knowledge of the customer volumes against plan for the current shift pattern in order to evaluate its impact on labour planning and take necessary steps to meet labour demand by working in close liaison with Shift Manager / and agency suppliers.
