Salary £12.24 per hour
Monday – Friday 07.30 – 16.30 although this may vary with demands of the role

The role:
As a Warehouse Operative for GCL Food Ingredients based in Newthorpe, you’ll be joining an industry leader and performing various duties within our ever-growing production facility. This position involves various tasks and is responsible for safely operating various vehicles to move goods and materials between the warehouse and other locations and ensures the safe receipt, storage and dispatch of warehouse goods. This role involves regular heavy lifting and requires individuals who can work efficiently in a physically demanding environment. A strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety are essential for this role.
Main Duties will involve but not limited to:
Taking accountability for the day to day performance of your personal area of operation and influence.
Perform general warehouse duties, including lifting, stacking, and loading.
Pick and amalgamate stock from the correct location.
Load/unload all in/outbound stock correctly and put away all inbound stock as per instructions.
Operating equipment in accordance with best practice complying with Health and Safety rules and regulations and GCL procedures.
Maintain records of stock ensuring paperwork is up to date and completed in a timely manner
Assist with regular stock counts.
Ensure the yard and warehouse is kept organised and tidy at all times
Promote excellent communications between departments, customers and suppliers.
Collaborate effectively with team members to meet daily targets.
Follow all health and safety policies, practices and standards always, taking personal accountability for safe working practices.
Undertake any other reasonable request from the Warehouse Manager or the Management Team
Skills/Knowledge
Experience in a warehouse environment is highly desirable.
High attention to detail to ensure quality standards are met
Ability to read and understand delivery and collection associated paperwork
Physically fit and able to lift/move heavy goods
You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Computer Literacy in Microsoft office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc
You should have a good standard of English and be numerate.
You should have strong time keeping skills
You should be adaptable and able to help in other departments as required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
Ability to work within a team environment but also have the ability to work using your own initiative
Qualifications:
Counter and Reach Truck licenses are essential
Previous experience in a warehouse environment is highly desired
