Summary

To demonstrate highly specialist clinical skills and advanced knowledge within the field of chronic respiratory care and provide specialist support and advice and support to the multi-disciplinary team within the organisation. To use specialist theoretical and practical knowledge gained from postgraduate study and experience in the treatment of patients. To have an expert working knowledge of the specialist equipment required for the domiciliary NIV service (e.g. NIV machines/interfaces). To support patients through the sleep and ventilation pathways and be responsible for clinical assessment, performing diagnostic tests and interpreting data. To participate in outpatient clinics. This work requires the post holder to work primarily autonomously and participate in clinics with the lead consultant for sleep and ventilation. To work independently with several IT systems including CPAP and NIV patient monitoring software. To monitor compliance of CPAP and NIV use remotely and be able to clinically reason and apply the data to the care of the patient. To assist with budget management of the sleep and ventilation service To manage stock control for relevant area and ensure ordering in completed in an effective and timely manner Undertake recruitment, the supervision, organisation and line management of clinical and administration staff. Monitor staff performance and carry out annual staff appraisal, linking development priorities to those of the Trust. Actively manage staff absence and sickness To attend relevant staff and management meetings, tutorials, training sessions, and external courses. To develop, implement and audit innovative methods of delivering education sessions, e.g. group workshops for patients and their carers, digital resources Please refer to the job description & person specification for full details.
