Groundsman with Agricultural Experience - Near Amersham, Buckinghamshire - £40,000 DOE
The Job:
We are looking for a passionate outdoors person with experience of formal and informal gardens, to work alongside our Gardener and help take care of some thirty acres of land, comprising formal and informal gardens and some agricultural land.
Responsibilities include:
- Scarify, edge and mow formal lawns (stripes and rides)
- Oversow with new seed and fertilise
- Ladder work, pruning roses
- Blow/sweep/collect leaves
- Weed paths and gravel areas
- Strim footpaths and hedgetrim hedges
- Remove thistles, nettles, weeds and yarrow from meadow areas
- Winter prune limewalk and water trees by hand
- Cut and bale meadows
- Maintenance and replacement as needed of field gates, wooden and rabbit fences and gateposts
- Outbuilding management, jet washing, removing cobwebs, outdoor furniture cleaning, gutter clearance, firewood chopping amongst others
The Candidate:
- Agricultural experience of mowing meadows, bailing airisings and flailing hedges
- Experience of strimming and fencing in meadows, public footpaths and formal garden areas
- Holds current machine licenses, digger, tractor, flail, bailer, cutting, topping & chainsaw
- Horticultural experience cutting and maintaining formal lawns and hedges
- Can -do attitude, enthusiastic and energetic, ability to work in all weathers
- Well motivated with an eye for detail and a desire to achieve a high standard, ability to work on own initiative
- Good organisational, written and verbal communication skills. Based locally
The Package:
- Full Time, 5 days per week
- Live Out
- Salary £35,000- £40,000 per annum DOE
