Water Activities Instructor
Portsmouth - Full Time - 37.5 Hour pro-rota working week
We are recruiting for a new Water Activities Instructor to join the Mitie team at Hestia SW in Portsmouth in assisting and supporting the Principal and Chief Instructor in the instructing of all water activities on site and for all personnel required. You are responsible for the successful delivery of customer-focused service to Military Personnel, incorporating on HMS Excellent, Portsmouth.
You will be delivering training on a range of water sports course and experiences, i.e., Sailing, Powerboat, Dinghy, Paddlesports, and kayaking courses. You will ensure all activities are carried out in full compliance with current RYA and Health and Safety Regulations so a knowledge in these is essential.
You will hold a valid certification in RYA Dinghy and Powerboat or Senior Instructor level as well as relevant First Aid qualification as accepted by RYA and BC. You will ideally also hold certifications as a British Canoeing Coach (ASI/BSUPA) and a VHF Operator but these are not essential.
You should be well-organised, precise, confident with credible communication skills readily able and willing to contribute at all levels. You will be pro-active and persuasive when required and responsive to changing needs of the business and demands of the customer, while remaining calm under pressure and self-motivated, the incumbent will be reliable and well presented, giving a positive image of MITIE company values.
Due to the nature of the site, MOD security clearance and DBS Standard is required to be successful and there is a requirement to wear approved company work wear.
