The Opportunity

This post represents an exciting opportunity for an individual to join a team of staff in Keele University’s Student Services. Student Services and the support we provide is critical to the wellbeing of our students and contributing to the success of the University. We strive to enhance the quality of the student experience and support recruitment, progression, retention and attainment.

Through the support provided, students are able to develop strategies to keep themselves well, build support networks, and develop key skills to support their professional and personal development. 

This role, based in the Residence Life Team, ensures that activities and support are delivered to students within University accommodation to enhance the student experience and enable student success.

Working as a team, this role works with colleagues across the University to deliver sector leading initiatives to support a holistic approach to student wellbeing. Supporting the transition from home to University for students living on campus and encouraging self-supporting communities to develop.

The role oversees a team of Residence Advisers to deliver peer led activities aimed at developing a sense of belonging for our students. Working across student services ensuring welfare concerns are managed and supported appropriately.  

The role works with the team to ensure there is a 24/7 provision of support to students, working closely with the Out of Hours Residence Life Managers, Resident Advisers and Campus Safety to do this.  

The post-holder will be part of the on-call team providing effective, professional and sensitive support to students who are experiencing crisis “out of hours” dealing with serious student incidents and cases

We are looking for an individual who has experience of supporting students in an education setting along with strong project management and leadership skills.

Please note that the starting salary will typically be at the bottom of the pay scale shown above.
