A development opportunity for Band 2 administrators within the Healthy Families Service to apply for this exciting new post supporting the school 5-19 service within Thurrock As a member of the school health service, you will support the 5-19 team in the undertaking of the National Child Measuring Programme (NCMP), Hearing and Vision (H&V), Health Needs Assessment Questionnaires (HNA) and Single Point of Access administration duties (Duty SPA).
• To assist with the co-ordination, uploading and organisation of NCMP, H&V and HNA questionnaires, data reports and received documents.
• The post holder will screen/complete NCMP, HNA and H&V. All data to be reported on as per KPI. The information received will be disseminated appropriately to all parents/carers to ensure that outcome letters/emails are produced as required and within timeframes.
• The post holder will support the co-ordination with schools to develop and deliver programmes in compliance with Department of Health regulations, liaising with professionals and education to ensure any data required is collated, accurate and received in a timely manner
• The post holder will assist the team lead to ensure all completed data is recorded, processed, and uploaded onto HSCIC so that this data can be reported on annually. The information received will be disseminated appropriately to all parents/carers to ensure that outcome letters/emails are produced in-line with national guidelines and localised with internal and healthy lifestyle programmes.
• To work as a member of the School Health Service Team, liaising closely with other team members.
• To accurately produce letters, emails, reports, team meeting minutes and other written material within agreed timescales from a variety of sources.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,258 to a maximum of £2,122 p.a. pro rata for part time).
Specific Tasks related to the post:
• To undertake mandatory training as required.
• To maintain an updated record of training sessions attended and learning experiences/outcomes.
• To receive line management supervision and child protection group supervision in accordance with Organisation standards of practice.
• To undertake and participate in the appraisal and personal development plan system to enable a focus on personal and professional development.
• To maintain accurate contemporaneous school nursing documentation in accordance with Organisation standards of practice.
• To attend and participate at NCMP, Team meetings and other meetings as requested by the team lead.
• To be competent or be willing to learn a range of administration task/duties to support the service as appropriate (E.g. emails, electronic task, minutes, scanning, photocopying, printing, filing, archiving, letters, leaflets, ordering, and checking equipment, supporting the organisation for packs for training &/or programmes, minute taking)
• To undertake administration tasks – Including inputting all NCMP, H&V and HNA data, checking families’ details, producing & sending out letters for families, ensuring systems are in place to support the processes and care pathways.
• To perform general office tasks such as including photocopying, scanning, document distribution, shredding relevant documents, answering the telephone, preparing, and sending messages in support of the efficient running of the services, in relation to NCMP, H&V, HNA, SPA and any other School Health Service programmes/services.
• To work flexibly to ensure that all work is completed in a timely manner.
• To maintain recording all relevant information on SystmOne, and/or equivalent.
• Maintain school lists and accurate data collection on SystmOne, HSCIC, School Screener or Equivalent.
• To recognise the sensitivity of business undertaken and to ensure strict confidentiality.
• Collect/deliver post, between school/clinic bases. Travel between School/Health Centres/ Clinics, as required.
• Any other duties commensurate with the post holder’s capabilities and experience.
