Summary
Due to staff absence, Manpower Recruitment have an opportunity for a HGV2 Driver to work for a minimum of six weeks.
Main Duties:
- Drive a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) with a Class 2 license (HGV2) for scheduled deliveries and collections.
- Load and unload goods securely and efficiently, ensuring safety during transit.
- Complete pre and post-trip vehicle checks and report any faults or maintenance issues to the fleet manager.
- Follow all relevant traffic laws and health and safety regulations while operating the vehicle.
- Deliver products to designated locations on time, ensuring the highest level of customer service.
- Complete delivery documentation, such as delivery notes and logs, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with the transport team, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery progress or issues.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle at all times.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid HGV Class 2 (HGV2) driving license.
- Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification.
- Digital tachograph card.
- Previous experience driving HGVs, particularly with large vehicles.
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and transport legislation.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- A positive attitude, attention to detail, and reliability.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in multi-drop deliveries.
- Familiarity with load securing and handling techniques.
- Experience with route planning and navigation.
