Summary
To be responsible for the development and provision of a high quality, evidence based, effective nutrition and dietetic service, for children and young adults with diabetes and varying degrees of complexity To support their parents and carers through structured education. To work as part of the Dietetic and Nutrition Service and the Childrens Clinical Management Group in LRI without direct supervision, whilst exercising a large degree of autonomy in an extended scope role. To provide an expert specialist Dietetic and Nutrition Service to children and young adults with diabetes and their families and carers whilst under the care of Consultant Paediatric Diabetologists. The post holder will also provide continuity of care across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland healthcare community. To act as an expert resource on paediatric diabetes diet therapy and advise other dietitians and health care professionals on nutrition and dietetic matters (local, national and international).
