Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a permanent full-time teacher of Mathematics to teach in our school (part time would be possible for the right candidate). The successful applicant will be required to teach Mathematics throughout the age range including GCSE and A Level. Applications are welcome from teachers at any stage in their career including ECTs.
We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about mathematics, enjoys working as a member of a team and is constantly seeking ways in which they can improve on their current practice.
Mathematics is a thriving and very successful department in the school. All pupils take the higher GCSE in year 11 and some sit an extra Level 3 qualification in Algebra. At A Level, Mathematics is studied by most, testament to the high esteem in which the subject is held amongst the school community. We are proud of the wealth of knowledge in our Mathematics department, their innovative use of technology and strength of teamwork.
What the school offers its staff
As a grammar school, we are privileged to work with able learners with a thirst for knowledge. It is equally important to note that successful applicants would join a school with kindness and integrity at the heart of our values system.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly and inclusive school in which you can develop the love for your subject and share it with keen learners.
Further benefits of working at Aston include a tailored CPD programme, opportunities for secondment with the MAT, a first-class free fitness studio and inspirational colleagues who share a passion for teaching.
Commitment to safeguarding
King Edward VI Aston School is one of the six King Edward VI Grammar Schools in Birmingham and a member of the King Edward VI MAT. The school is committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of its students and the successful candidate will be required to undertake DBS and Prohibition checks.
