Summary
Sports Massage Therapist:
Duties and responsibilities:
Assess physical condition, detect injuries, and establish fitness and health objectives using diagnostic methods such as manual palpation, movement analysis, and functional evaluations.
Design individualized treatment plans that blend traditional sports therapy techniques-like massage, stretching, and strength training-with alternative approaches and nutritional counseling.
Employ manual therapy methods, including sports massage, myofascial release, and joint mobilization, while incorporating aromatherapy, hydrotherapy, and mindfulness practices.
Develop injury prevention strategies and rehabilitation programs tailored to athletes, emphasizing flexibility, strength, and balance. Educate sportspeople on proper training techniques and body mechanics.
Offer guidance on nutrition, hydration, and stress management. Utilize sports psychology to enhance performance and modify programs as needed.
Maintain detailed records and collaborate effectively with athletes, families, and healthcare professionals.
Salary: £24000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 per week.
