Summary
Position Summary:
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in Photosynthetic Biotechnology funded for 22 months by the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship programme. You will be joining the lab of Dr Marjorie Lundgren, part of the Photosynthesis Team at the Lancaster Environment Centre.
The position is available to researchers with a PhD in plant sciences or related discipline with a keen interest in photosynthesis and crop improvement. With training and support, you will be responsible for selection, genetic and molecular characterization of transgenic plants, isolation and quantification of DNA/RNA, and qPCR, as part of a Camelina sativa transformation programme, with a larger aim to engineer C2 photosynthesis into C3 Camelina sativa. You will design and carry out experimental work, analyse data, and present results in publication and at national and international conferences. Professional development opportunities and training courses to broaden your skills will be encouraged and are covered by the project.
