Summary
The Royal London Hospital is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Consultant Physician to join our team in the Acute Medicine department. This role offers a unique opportunity to in providing comprehensive acute medical care to a diverse patient population.
Responsibilities:
Acute Medicine:
- Lead the acute medical take, providing expert care and decision-making for patients presenting with a variety of acute medical conditions.
- Oversee the management of patients in a short stay inpatient general medical ward, ensuring high standards of clinical care and patient safety.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated and efficient care, participating in ward rounds, case discussions, and discharge planning.
Acute Frailty:
- Supervise the medical care of inpatients admitted with acute frailty on the acute assessment unit
Education and Training:
Contribute to the education and training of resident doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals. Provide mentorship and guidance to support their professional development.
Research and Innovation:
Engage in clinical research and quality improvement projects to advance the field of acute and general medicine. Encourage and participate in innovative practices and treatments.
Collaboration:
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nursing staff, allied health professionals, and administrative personnel, to ensure holistic patient care.
On-call Duties:
Participate in the on-call rota, providing expert support and decision-making during emergency situations.
