Summary
We have recently expanded our ICU consultant workforce in line with expansion of tertiary services and high-risk major oncological surgery in the Trust. This has enabled us to embed career progression into our department. As a department, we are committed to developing rotas which provide excellent continuity of care and adequate rest periods to provide a good work / life balance and minimise fatigue associated with shift working.
