Summary

We’re looking for an outstanding Lead DevOps Engineer to develop, build and maintain our Azure hosted services across Appeals & Supporting Capabilities. This includes services across Retirement, Bereavement and Care that provide support for the most vulnerable people in society.

As a Lead DevOps Engineer you will lead our specialist Azure DevOps team and be an integral part of delivering and supporting automated solutions that enable the DWP to deliver quality services consistently that meet the needs of our agents and claimants. The successful candidate will be expected to lead engineers as well as collaborate with others, actively seek input from colleagues and value a multidisciplinary approach over hierarchy.

This role represents a unique opportunity to join the Appeals & Supporting Capabilities team at DWP Digital, to be part of a team delivering real value to people that need help during the difficult times of their lives.

Please note:

Regular travel to Newcastle will be required where the majority of the wider team is based.

The role includes a requirement for on-call duties and working outside of regular office hours.

As a Lead DevOps Engineer you will lead and set the strategy as well as build our products and applications with multi-functional service teams as part of our specialist DevOps team.
