Summary

Job Title: Support Worker for Adults with Learning Disabilities
Location: Liverpool 6 (Residential Care Home & Supported Living Setting)
Hours: 20 hours per week
Salary: £11.44 per hour

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team and provide high-quality care and support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, and associated mental health needs. This is a rewarding role, ideal for someone with a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable adults.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide person-centred support to service users in all aspects of their daily life, promoting independence and well-being.
Assist with personal care tasks in a respectful and dignified manner.
Encourage and support individuals to live according to their preferences, promoting their individuality, skills, and abilities.
Support service users in a non-restrictive way, helping them to take positive risks and make informed decisions.
Work with service users to achieve personal outcomes, setting goals and action steps for success.
Assist with daily living tasks including meal preparation, household chores, and ensuring a clean and safe environment.
Promote social inclusion by facilitating access to community activities and encouraging positive relationships.
Support service users with medical and health needs as required, including medication administration following proper procedures.
Maintain accurate documentation, including care plans, risk assessments, and daily reports.
Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all service users at all times.
Work as part of a dedicated and professional team to provide high-quality care and support.
Attend meetings, training, and development sessions to ensure skills and knowledge are up-to-date.

Essential Criteria:

Previous experience working with adults with learning disabilities or in a care-related setting is preferred but not essential. We are willing to consider applicants with the right attitude and passion for the role.
A caring, patient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to build trust and positive relationships with service users.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
A proactive attitude with the ability to think on your feet and make decisions.
Flexibility and a positive approach to meeting the needs of service users.


Desirable Criteria:

Experience supporting individuals with Downs Syndrome, Autism, Dementia and learning disabilities.
Full training provided.
Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and best practice in social care.


£11.44 per hour
20 hours per week (Days, Evenings, Weekends & Sleep in Shifts)
Overtime shifts are often available
Immediate start available (subject to DBS clearance)
