This is an exciting opportunity to undertake the Brokerage Coordinator role supporting the Commissioning Service within the Children and Family Service in helping to ensure that children/young people and their families/carers receive quality support.

You will be working within a team and communicating directly with providers in relation to the provision of these services.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the team

You will be:

  • Working closely with the service, in particular the Brokerage and Negotiation sub team, the Quality and Contract Management sub team and external social work teams to provide specialist support in relation to packages of support for children and young people.
  • Responsible for providing a comprehensive range of business support services both administrative to the department and in relation to negotiation skills when working with providers in relation to their costs for the provision of services for children and young people and having the confidence to challenge providers in relation to costings.
  • The system administrator for the fair cost care calculator. This includes, providing support to users both individually and collectively, dealing with queries regarding the systems and the cleaning and retention of data held on the systems.
  • Ensuring the capture and maintenance of high quality information for the department and remain up to date with all software systems, used by the service.
  • Working with and liaising confidently with a range of internal and external agencies to ensure children and young people receive our services and gather/monitor appropriate information.
  • Accurately entering data onto database systems, maintaining a log of data entry and making best use of database system processes for qualitative entry.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

• Hold and NVQ 3 or equivalent in relevant area or equivalent level of relevant experience
• Be trained in and proficient using the full Microsoft Office Pro range of software packages (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.),
• Be confident in the use of Mosaic or other case management software and have a working knowledge and understanding of social care terminology.
• Have previous experience of collection and collation of data, performing calculations and writing reports
• Have the ability to analyse and interpret data/information and present it effectively.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people from a range of backgrounds and the ability to deal calmly and effectively with competing pressures
• A proven ability to work to deadlines and ability to use own initiative in relation to problem solving
