Lancaster University is one of three partners (with the Universities of Manchester and Liverpool) in the ESRC-funded International Centre for Language and Communicative Development (LuCiD).


At Lancaster University, developmental psychology research is centred around the Infant and Child Development Lab (ICDL) which comprises the Lancaster Babylab. We are now advertising the position of Impact and Engagement Officer for the LuCiD Centre which is funded by the ESRC to support impact and outreach activities for the LuCiD Centre and the Lancaster ICDL and Babylab.

This part-time (0.5FTE) LuCiD Impact and Engagement Officer role is indefinite, subject to funding, which is only available until 31 October 2025. With an expected January 2025 start date, this will be a 9.5 month appointment.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a highly motivated person with

  • an undergraduate degree or relevant experience, and preferably also a postgraduate degree in psychology or a related subject;
  • outstanding communication and organisational skills;
  • experience with outreach and publicity;
  • and experience with event organisation.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable ability to learn rapidly and complete tasks accurately with attention to detail. The ability to travel to Manchester and Liverpool to participate in LuCiD events is essential.

The Psychology Department is a busy teaching and research active Department. It is home to a friendly group of around 40 Academic staff, with teams of Research and Professional Services and Technical staff. The Department supports a large cohort of Undergraduate students; a thriving group of Masters and Postgraduate research students; and a wide range of research projects including several cross-institution grants.
