A permanent part-time opportunity has arisen within the Marine Environmental Unit, Marine Services for a self-motived and enthusiastic individual to join the team. The post holder's duties will be to co-ordinate KIMO UK activities under the direction of KIMO UK Board.

KIMO, the Komunernes International Miljøorganisation (Local Authorities International Environmental Organisation) mission is to unite local governments, prevent pollution and protect, preserve and enhance the seas and coastal waters of the North-East Atlantic and Baltic regions. KIMO’s members share a vision of healthy seas, clean beaches and thriving coastal communities.

The functions of this role are to contribute to the development of policy and strategy for KIMO UK, to undertake and oversee Programme, Policy and Strategy co-ordination on behalf of KIMO UK and to ensure the provision of a high quality, efficient and effective administrative and executive support function to Kimo UK.

You should hold an SCQF 6/7 - SVQ3, National Certificate, Foundation Apprenticeship, Advanced Higher, Scottish Baccalaureate, HNC, Certificate of Higher Education in an Administration related subject or project management Or Having a minimum of 3 years previous relevant experience as detailed in the experience section of this person specification.

You must be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

This post requires Basic Disclosure Scotland Clearance.
