Summary
We are seeking a Groundsperson to join the Grounds team on a permanent basis in the provision of a high-quality grounds maintenance service to the School playing fields. This is an exciting time to join the Grounds team at the School, as we joined with another school and became co-educational in September 2021. The sports grounds of Sudbury Fields are located just over half a mile from the main school site, set across 28 acres of a mixture of sports fields, lawns, tree lines, buildings and car parks.
The Groundsperson will support the Grounds team with the completion of planned maintenance, use of heavy machinery, general grounds work and labouring, tree work, security, event set-ups, building checks and machinery upkeep. The successful individual will have basic labouring, and some general grounds and maintenance skills, although relevant sports turf or chemical licence qualifications would be advantageous.
Candidates must demonstrate good communication and organisational skills and be comfortable liaising with staff, pupils, parents, contractors and other third-party users of the School’s facilities. The successful candidate must also possess a clean, valid driving licence.
Applicants should be enthusiastic, willing to work outdoors in all weathers and able to work unsupervised.
