Summary

Gearies Primary School has just been inspected by Ofsted and is outstanding in all areas. We are a school where pupils and staff thrive. This is because we have a friendly and professional environment where the opinions, ideas and thoughts of staff are welcomed and valued. We are very conscious of staff well-being and strive to have a happy staff that can inspire our children.
The school is a culturally diverse school providing education to pupils aged 3-11. To continue to develop our excellent offer to children we wish to appoint versatile, enthusiastic and experienced classroom practitioners to provide support to children across the school with special educational needs.
We are looking for colleagues who:-
• enjoy working with children
• have experience of working with children with special educational needs
• are committed to raising standards
• have excellent communications skills
• hold GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English Language (preferable)
• have a minimum Level 2 qualification in a relevant field
• are flexible, enthusiastic and motivated
They will be required to:
• work in collaboration with class teachers
• work with the Special Needs Co-ordination team
• contribute to records kept on pupil progress
• discuss how the children cope with their work with the SENCO and class teachers
• cater for the personal needs of SEN children
What the school offers its staff
We are a well-resourced school and can offer:
• A friendly and supportive environment
• Outstanding colleagues who care about children
• Excellent development opportunities
• Well-behaved pupils
• Term-time only working
• Pension scheme
Commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding. This post will require an enhanced DBS check, however, disclosure of convictions, either by the applicant or as a result of the DBS check, will not necessarily exclude an individual from employment. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. We work within all relevant legislation, recommendations and guidance and carry out a number of checks before, during and following the interview stage. This will include carrying out an online search and references will be taken up prior to interview.
