We are a large inclusive primary school and require full-time and part-time Teaching Assistants to join our team. We are seeking skilled and enthusiastic individuals to support pupils with all aspects of their education. As we are an inclusive school these roles may involve working with children with physical disabilities, challenging behaviour, SEMH needs and complex barriers to learning.
The successful candidates will need a wide range of skills to support our children's needs and will have a genuine desire to ensure children reach their full potential and have a safe and welcoming learning experience.
We have a full-time vacancy for 30 hours per week (6 hours a day, Monday to Friday) and a part-time vacancy for 15 hours per week (3 hours Wednesday afternoons, 6 hours a day Thursdays and Fridays). Please indicate which role you are interested in on your form.
The pay scale is Kent Range 3 at £23,337 FTE which equates to approximately £15,998 per annum pro rata for the 30 hours role and £7,999 for the 15 hours role.
The post holder is required to work for 38 weeks per year (term time only). In addition they will receive a payment in respect of their pro rata entitlement to Annual Leave.
We require a good standard of general education and GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above are desirable. Verification of qualifications will be required before employment can commence so do not declare any qualifications unless you can produce the original certificate.
A formal 30 minute interview will take place with a panel comprising of members of the Leadership Team. Candidates will also undertake a 25 minute English and Maths test.
CVs will not be accepted so please complete the application form in full and explain how your skills and experience make you a suitable candidate for the role.
It is an offence to apply for this role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
GPSN is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Our Safeguarding Policy is available on the school website.
Shortlisted candidates will be subject to online checks following Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024. Interviewees will also be asked questions relating to the safeguarding of children.
We are also committed to championing staff wellbeing and all employees can access free counselling, occupational health support and supervision sessions.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and a check against the ISA Barred List for Children, two satisfactory references and right to work in the UK documentation. All new employees to the school, including those with previous local government service, shall be subject to a 6 month probationary period.
If applicants have not been contacted by Friday 17 January they have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
