Summary
As a Calibration Technician you will be part of the BEL Engineering QC team and will be responsible for managing the whole Calibration process.
What you’ll be doing
• Run and maintain the calibration programme for all equipment requiring calibration, in line with the needs of the business.
• Issue equipment recall notices regarding items due for calibration.
• Obtain competitive quotations for items requiring external calibration.
• Organise any ‘on & off’ site calibration required by appropriate sources.
• Determination of acceptable and unacceptable condition of calibrated equipment to internal and external quality standards.
• Where an item is found to be of unacceptable condition, raising the issue with the appropriate personnel and agreeing corrective actions.
• Process calibration certs and update database information.
• Ensure all new equipment requiring calibration is processed correctly and added to the calibration database.
• Generate requisitions to purchase new items when required.
• Perform checks/audits to identify any uncontrolled equipment being used.
• Ensure any damaged, ‘out of calibration’ or uncontrolled items are withdrawn from use.
• Carry out trouble shooting, equipment maintenance and repairs where applicable (within agreed scope).
• Work within designated budget and support cost reduction activities.
• Support others with training if and when required.
• Comply with the Quality Management System and minimise any impact on the environment whilst carrying out duties.
Who we’re looking for
We ask that you have a sound understanding of metrology with the ability to assess equipment against standards, make decisions on the level of acceptability and have an appreciation of quality standards, processes and systems.
You must have enthusiasm for the job/the role of quality and the ability to manage your own workload and deliver result in line with business deadlines, pursuing the highest level of service and focus; continually identifying opportunities to improve.
If you have a proficient level of IT including experience using IFS/ERP and MS office as well as ability to interact and communicate with other employees we’d love to hear from you!
