Salary: £24,203 per annum (full time year round) 37.5 hours per week over 5 days.
Swindon Academy/Nova Hreod Academy is looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic ICT Technician. In this exciting role, the successful candidate will support delivery and effective deployment of the ICT system, including maintenance and support of ICT networks and associated technologies, ensuring that they support curriculum and administrative systems and the long term vision to raise educational standards.The successful candidate will ideally have strong knowledge of computer systems, networks including working knowledge of a range of ICT software, hardware and other resources.
This is an interesting and wide-ranging role, which will be suited to a determined and detail-oriented individual. Candidates must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, be flexible to change and be able to manage a diverse workload. The successful candidate will be people-focused, have a positive outlook, be able to build strong relationships with stakeholders and will be excited to develop this role.
Main Duties:Assist the IT team when installing computer equipment. maintaining equipment .
Support the Helpdesk, adding and updating support calls.
Support with the deployment of software and updates.
Set up equipment required to deliver a practical music, theatre or dance lesson.
Support teaching staff by recording and archiving students’ work.
Support teachers and groups of students in the use of technology, including sound and audio equipment in the recording studio and other resources.
To provide theatrical lighting and sound production support for music, dance, drama productions, academy events and celebrations, which may on occasion include evening and weekend support for the annual productions.Our ideal candidate will have:
Sound literacy and numeracy, GCSE in English and Maths at Grade C or above
Excellent communication skills and be able to build good relationships with young people and adults
An ability to deal with students and staff so that they feel they have been dealt with consistently and fairly
The ability to show initiative whilst knowing when to take advice
Good judgement over matters of confidentiality and integrity in dealing with sensitive information about students
Strong IT skills with the ability to positively respond to training in the use of school IT packages
