An exciting opportunity has arisen for committed, enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Healthcare Support Workers to join us at our Acute Cardiac Unit Colchester Hospital.
The Acute Cardiac Unit is a 29 bedded Acute Cardiac Ward. We are a busy unit which specializes in the care of patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions requiring acute care, treatment and intervention.
Healthcare Support Workers are a key part of our team and support the Registered Nurses in providing high quality care to our patients.

Our Healthcare Support Workers work a rota pattern, so you MUST be able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights and weekends including Bank Holidays. Please be advised that we are unable to offer set shifts patterns.
Care Certificate or equivalent and proven experience in care are essential criteria for this role.

To meet the direct and indirect care needs of patients under the delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
To check patient observations and provide personal care including bathing, toileting and feeding.
To assist the patient with daily living activities in accordance with their care plan.
To be responsible for ensuring own infection control practice is in line with Trust Infection Control policies.
In this role, you will work as a member of the ward team, establishing effective communication across the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality care for our patients, families and carers. You will also report to the senior nurse on duty in a timely manner, information relating to all work activity, e.g. identifying significant changes in relation to direct patient care/treatment plans.
