Summary
We’re looking to expand our little team with a friendly and motivated Guitar Workshop Assistant to join us in our workshop. If you’ve got a solid woodworking background and an interest in guitars, this could be the perfect role for you.
You'll help with the day-to-day running of the workshop, from using and maintaining tools and machinery to lending a hand with the finer details of guitar building. You may even make the odd cup of tea. You’ll work closely with us, contributing to the creation of our unique instruments.
This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience in a small and friendly guitar building workshop, with the potential for this role to evolve further.
*This role will be reviewed at the end of the 6 months with the possibility of being made permanent and full-time.
Main Duties
• Assisting with all aspects of the guitar-building process
• Using hand tools (chisels, scrapers, planes etc…) and operating workshop machines (wide belt sander, bandsaw, planer, thicknesser, table saw etc…)
• Keeping the workshop clean, safe, and running smoothly
• Regular maintenance of machinery and hand tools
• Supporting quality control to ensure our guitars meet the highest standards
• Assisting with stock management and procurement
• Packaging and shipping of guitars
• Any other assistance required related to the manufacture and sale of guitars
Required Skills & Experience
• At least 2 years of woodworking experience or relevant qualification (guitar related experience is a bonus)
• Experienced, confident and comfortable using hand tools and machinery
• A keen eye for detail and a love of quality craftsmanship
• A team player who enjoys working in a small, close-knit team
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude
• Right to work in the UK
