Summary

We are looking for experienced supplier managers to work within a complex stakeholder environment, often working at pace to support delivery across internal teams.
Working with cross functional teams you will gather and collate relevant requirements to support the procurement process. You will monitor how the supplier is performing on each contract, implementing strategies to increase performance.
In addition, you will be supporting our reporting, as well as owning and managing financial and budget activities within the team.
One vacancy is within the Digital Modernisation and Efficiency Directorate, which delivers services and products that impact some of the most vulnerable people in society. We’re looking for people who are as motivated by that unique purpose as we are.
This is a key role within Digital Modernisation and Efficiency supporting the delivery and management of key supplier engagements across their lifecycle.
The second role is within our Digital Security Transformation Programme. This Programme is working to improve the Department’s Cyber Security strength across our estate of Digital Services, embedding security controls to ensuring we are secure by design. Note this role is based in Blackpool only.
The Supplier Manager role is responsible for ensuring that external contracts with suppliers meet the needs of the Business to deliver digital change and services.
You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end supplier management process working closely with Commercial Leads in the procurement of commercial contracts, dealing with any associated queries.
You will be responsible for financial tracking management ensuring it aligns with contractual spend. Resolve financial queries and liaise with Suppliers and Business areas when necessary, mitigating any issues / highlight overspends.
Your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Working with key stakeholders to document technical and non-technical requirements to assist with procurement activities, ensuring affordability and internal governance is followed.
- Ownership of resource and non-resource Cost Models for your portfolio / category, providing financial management and reporting. Ensuring financial tracking aligns with contractual spend. Resolve financial queries and liaise with Suppliers and Project leads, where necessary.
- Support Lead Supplier Manager, identify and initiate delivery of procurement plans and strategies. Ensuring stakeholder requirements are met and value for money is achieved. Tracking all renewals to prevent any loss to service.
- Liaising with internal Stakeholders and Suppliers to understand requirements.
- Build effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders acting as an escalation point for any issues that cannot be resolved.
- Implement strategies to increase performance and act as escalation point for any complex or unresolved issues. Maintain and actively review contract end dates in advance to prompt the business and see if renewal is required.
