Job Overview:
The Team Leader (Sales Supervisor) will be responsible for overseeing daily sales operations in both retail and wholesale settings, ensuring the team meets sales targets, and delivering excellent customer service. You will lead, mentor, and train sales associates, while working closely with the Sales Manager to implement strategies that grow Growth Directions market presence. The role involves managing client relationships, handling wholesale accounts, and ensuring smooth inventory flow for retail and wholesale clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Team Leadership:
• Supervise and lead a team of sales associates across retail and wholesale channels.
• Motivate and train staff to achieve individual and team sales targets.
• Organize and oversee daily sales activities, ensuring the team follows established sales processes and meets performance goals.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to improve productivity.
Sales Strategy and Management:
• Implement and execute sales strategies to increase the market share for Growth Directions’ paper containers and wholesale food, beverages, and tobacco products.
• Ensure team members understand and follow sales goals, policies, and procedures.
• Assist the Sales Manager in setting targets and developing strategies for both retail and wholesale sales growth.
• Monitor sales data and trends to identify opportunities for increasing revenue, and report key metrics to senior management.
Customer Relations:
• Serve as the first point of contact for high-value wholesale customers, ensuring excellent service and maintaining strong, long-term relationships.
• Oversee customer inquiries, orders, and complaints, ensuring prompt and satisfactory resolution.
• Build relationships with new and existing clients, aiming to increase customer retention and sales.
Inventory and Stock Management:
• Collaborate with inventory and procurement teams to ensure adequate stock levels of paper containers and wholesale food products.
• Ensure proper merchandising and display in retail environments to maximize product visibility and sales.
• Monitor and forecast inventory needs, especially for wholesale accounts, ensuring timely replenishment to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
Administrative and Compliance:
• Manage administrative tasks including staff scheduling, time tracking, and reporting on sales performance.
• Ensure all team members adhere to health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Educational Background:
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in business, retail management, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience:
• Proven experience (2-4 years) in a sales team leadership or supervisory role, preferably in both retail and wholesale environments.
• Experience in the wholesale trade sectors is a plus.
• Strong sales acumen with experience in B2B (wholesale) and B2C (retail) sales.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with wholesale clients and retail customers.
• Proficiency in handling customer service issues, ensuring quick and effective solutions.
Leadership and Team Management:
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate a sales team, driving them to meet or exceed sales targets.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in dynamic retail and wholesale settings.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in sales and inventory management software.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and CRM tools.
• Analytical and Organizational Skills:
• Ability to analyze sales data and provide actionable insights for improving sales performance.
