Summary

Group Facilitator’s deliver a range of group-based offending behaviour programmes and interventions aimed to change the thinking, attitudes, behaviours to support the Rehabilitative Culture policies.

Programmes help those attending to develop new skills to stop their offending, by providing cognitive-behavioural techniques. The role will involve both group and individual work with individuals that have been assessed as medium to high risk to the public.

As part of the recruitment process, successful candidates invited to interview, will be required to attend the Programmes Assessment Centre prior to their interview date. Candidates are also required to conduct a presentation at their interview – with details of the requirements given prior to interview for candidates to prepare.

If you are successful in the recruitment process and join the Probation Service, your starting salary will be £26,475. The Probation Services offers the opportunity for annual pay progression.

Please note:

The post holder will be required to become an Accredited Programmes Facilitator by:
• Undertaking and successfully passing Core Skills (1 week) to evidence their competence in delivering group work interventions (within 6 months).
• Undertaking and successfully passing Programme specific training for each programme and intervention the service delivers (1 week per programme).
