Summary
On behalf of our client, a well-established law firm located in Kilmarnock, we are seeking a diligent and detail-focused Legal Cashier for a part-time position.
Previous experience in a legal cashier position, along with a SOLAS qualification, is required.
Reporting to the partner, your key responsibilities will include:
- Processing financial transactions
- Conducting daily and monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring all payments are accurately recorded
- Processing invoices and disbursements for legal services
- Preparing monthly and year-end financial reports
- Monitoring client accounts for irregularities and reporting any discrepancies
- Managing incoming and outgoing CHAPS, BACS payments through online banking
- Processing petty cash payments and expenses
- Ensure compliance with the Law society of Scotland accounts rules and other relevant regulations
- Handling general account queries
- Assisting with other legal finance-related tasks as needed by the team.
Skills & Experience:
- Proficient in legal accounting software (preferably Denovo)
- SOLAS qualification
- Solid understanding of legal finance compliance
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills
The position will cover 15 – 20 hour per week.
