Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Housing Options Adviser (Refugees) to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will provide critical support and guidance to refugees navigating the complex housing system. Your primary focus will be to assess individual needs, offer practical advice, and assist clients in accessing appropriate housing solutions that promote stability and integration within the community. Working collaboratively with various stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and community groups, you will ensure that refugees receive the necessary resources to secure suitable accommodation. You will facilitate workshops and informational sessions aimed at empowering clients with knowledge regarding their housing rights and available resources. The role demands a high level of empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by refugees, as well as strong communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and partners. Responsibilities
Assess individual housing needs of refugee clients to provide tailored support.
Advise clients on housing options, rights, and available resources relevant to their situation.
Facilitate access to temporary and permanent housing solutions for refugees.
Collaborate with local organizations and agencies to develop housing programs and initiatives.
Conduct workshops and informational sessions about housing rights and processes for refugees.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing regulations and policies affecting refugees.
Provide advocacy and support in housing-related issues, including disputes with landlords or housing providers.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social work, community development, or a related field.
Experience working with refugees or vulnerable populations in a housing capacity.
Strong understanding of housing legislation and welfare systems relevant to refugees.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of refugee clients.
Proficient in using case management software and MS Office Suite.
Hours Per Week: 35.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:30
Pay Per Hour: £20.49
