Summary

You’ll be ready to take on a leadership role in the development of high performing procurement practice across the Council. You’ll be leading on the adoption of self-service and a business partner approach, supporting senior officers in creating and applying procurement strategy. You’ll support the training and development of procurement skills across the Council

You’ll be part of the Corporate Procurement leadership team, working alongside the other Business Partner and Head of Corporate Procurement to lead on best practice procurement strategy and application.

You’ll work closely with the Heads of Service for the Directorates you support in deciding upon commissioning, procurement and contract management activity, as well as improving forward planning and procurement pipelines, whilst managing demand and prioritising contracts appropriately.

You’ll support the Procurement Officers in your team in the delivery of the procurements they support, and directly support the Council’s most strategic contracts.

Key responsibilities...
Providing a business partner approach to support the development and delivery of a strategic sourcing pipeline for defined departments and services
Devising appropriate procurement strategies
Engaging with stakeholders at all levels to support the delivery of projects on time and within defined budgets
Providing comprehensive, relevant and high value insight into all procurement and commercial aspects for specific departments and services
Promoting sustainable, effective procurement practice across the Council
Leading a team of Procurement Officers in supporting defined areas
