Working 37.5 hours a week, you will join a multidisciplinary team in a CAMHS Tier 4 service supporting young people aged 12 - 18 years with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder.
You will work under the supervision of the Registered Dietitian, which will see you take responsibility for supporting the day-to-day duties of the Dietetic team. This includes collecting information for the dietetic assessment, reviewing patients to ensure the agreed nutritional care plan is being followed, providing therapeutic support to patients at mealtimes and acting as the dietetic point of contact for patients and staff on the ward.
As a Dietetic Assistant, you will also participate in the preparation and updating of information and resources for individuals and groups, complete and maintain patient records and data collection in line with trust policy, and liaise with the hospitals catering department regarding menus, portion sizes and special diets.

Other responsibilities:
- Assist and participate in the planning and facilitation of a range of training sessions and group work.
- Collect data for audit or research purposes and record information accurately.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- General standard of education to GCSE or equivalent. Grade c/ level 4 or above in Maths/ English/Science.
- Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting.
- To demonstrate a basic understanding of nutrition and dietetics as it relates to eating disorders.
- An understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental health problems or other disabilities.
- Theoretical knowledge of eating disorders.

Working at Brighton & Hove Clinic, you will join the multidisciplinary team that provides CAMHS Tier 4 service for young people aged 12 - 18 years with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder and who may have other metals health conditions.
Combining the NICE guidelines recommended therapies, the service creates bespoke programmes that provide person-centred care to support each person’s physical, medical and mental health needs. Young people will participate in psycho-education to support their care plans, and are given the opportunity to engage in therapeutic programmes.
Working alongside the individual and their families, the MDT will collaboratively create care plans and risk assessments. You will empower individuals to manage and improve their health through their treatment within the community.
