Summary


The post holder is responsible for the planning, delivery, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based peri-operative care to patients.
The post holder will work with all members of the multi-disciplinary theatre
team and contribute to the safe effective running of the operating
department
The post holder will comply with the NMC or HCP Code of Professional
Conduct and demonstrate knowledge and application of Departmental and
Trust policies and procedures
Internal rotation to night duty, weekends and Bank Holidays as required
Working cross site as required
Post holders may be required to work at any of the Royal Free London NHS
Foundation Trust sites as required to meet the needs of the service

Opportunities also exist to work on our other sites where we perform a range of elective surgery (Chase Farm Hospital), emergency surgery (Barnet Hospital) and day surgery (Edgware Hospital).

To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and
evaluation of patient care needs ensuring high standards of evidence based
care and be able to demonstrate clinical expertise in anaesthetic practice
within the operating department and labour theatres.


To undertake all anaesthetic procedures and provide all care in accordance with Trust and theatre policies and ensure that these procedures and
policies are understood and adhered to by all staff.


To ensure accurate, legible and comprehensive nursing / theatre records, in
all formats, are maintained using appropriate documentation and Surginet IT system in accordance with Trust and department policy and procedures
To ensure communication with patients and significant others is established, ensuring empathy and reassurance regarding, assessment, care and treatment.


Support effective working relations with all members of the multi-disciplinary team promoting good communication and a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
