Summary
Custodian
Job Brief:
We are looking for a responsible custodian to maintain and protect our Avenue facilities. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a custodian to be careful and through in working, cleaning and tiding the premises, as well as preventing vandalism.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep. All Conference and Banqueting suites should be set up, serviced and broken down in accordance with Avenue function requirements, ensuring the brand standards are maintained.
Custodian Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that the Function rooms are set up on time and according to the specifications laid out by room plans and function sheet.
Keep building and property in clean and orderly condition.
Ensure that all requests for manual handling are carried out efficiently and up to five-star standards.
Able to do repeated heavy lifting, bending and walking.
To set rooms during the day and in the evening for the following day in accordance with client requirements and company standards.
To ensure that Function rooms and common areas are maintained to the highest level of cleanliness and optimum operational effectiveness.
To ensure that all waste removal is carried out according to Health & Safety regulations and company standards.
To store and keep a log of lost property found in meeting rooms and common areas.
Able to understand and follow directions and perform job functions under limited supervision.
To carry out deep-cleaning duties within the venue as per the schedule provided by the Management.
Monitoring of all utilities to ensure that they are all working and operate in accost effective manner.
Maintains standards of product quality for all areas of the Conference & Banqueting venue reports deficiencies to the Conference & Events Manager.
Patrol assigned areas to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
Report any suspicious activities or incidents.
Providing a customer focused security presence.
Custodian Qualifications / Skills:
Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours
Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time
Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions
Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals
Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules
Communication skills
Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic math skills
