Summary
This Area Sales Manager role working within the Heat Network & smart buildng controls sector, covering the Midlands and North of the UK will see you driving business growth by developing and implementing effective sales strategies, selling into a range of clients including specifiers, tier 1 contractors and local authories. The role requires a proactive approach to strengthening the brand's presence in the market, fostering strong client relationships, and meeting sales targets. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainability efforts within the heat network sector while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.
As the Area Sales Manager, you will champion innovative products and services, targeting growth in technical specifications with design consultants and delivering sales within sectors such as local authorities, housing associations, and tier-one developers. Managing your own workload, you will also represent the brand at industry events, work closely with stakeholders, and stay informed on industry trends to maintain a competitive edge.
Role Overview
Develop and execute sales strategies to increase pipeline and revenue, focusing on building relationships and sales into contractors, consultants, tier 1 developers, Housing associations and more.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target markets.
Build and maintain relationships with developers, property managers, and industry partners.
Represent the company at events and meetings to enhance brand visibility.
Negotiate and close deals, ensuring alignment with company profitability targets.
Maintain CRM records for sales activities and pipeline status.
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver cohesive customer experiences.
Manage account activities to ensure excellent client satisfaction
Experience & Skills Required
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
Proven experience in specification sales, particularly with M&E contractors, consultants, and specifiers.
Track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Experience of the heat network sector or similar utilities.
Knowledge of construction processes and key stakeholders' roles within project
Excellent interpersonal and presentational skills, with strong communication in written and spoken English.
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently within a small team.
Empathy and composure in a fast-paced, scale-up environment.
