The Opportunity:

We're looking for someone to join the Research Information Systems Team to primarily support users of our current research information system, Pure. The role would be of interest to people already working in this area, but perhaps are looking to move to a role which is central to our use and support of technologies underpinning processes associated with things like open access.

What you'd be doing on the job:

Working with colleagues right across the University to support a large and diverse user base.
Playing a role in the University's submission to the Research Excellence Framework (REF).
Producing user documentation, documenting processes and taking part in ongoing service improvement projects.
Involved in all aspects of communication of the outputs of the University's research.
Helping users use the system to achieve their objectives.

A bit about you:

Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal and people management skills.
A strong, demonstrable interest in new developments in service delivery.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Confident in your ability to learn and become proficient with new IT systems and processes.
Experience of research administration and assessment, particularly from the angle of an academic library and open access.

We welcome informal enquiries about the role - to find out more please email Damon Querry, Research Information Systems Manager - damon.querry@ed.ac.uk.

Please note: Applications without a cover letter will be treated as incomplete. Please ensure that you have submitted both a cover letter and a CV.
