Summary
Dalkia UK are looking for a full time Assistant Caretaker to join our busy and friendly school team based in Honley. You will be Responsible for the care, presentation and upkeep of school buildings. This is a full time position 37.5 hours a week.
Hours of work

Mon to Friday 6am -2pm and 10am – 18:00 on a weekly rotation
3 week rolling rota: 6.30am – 1.30pm & 8.30am – 4.30pm & 1.30pm – 9.30pm.
Responsibilities
Maintenance and repairs to the building fabric internally and externally as required.
Carry out plant equipment checks and log faults as required.
Replace lighting tubes and lamps as and when needed.
Site security.
Operations of fire/intruder panels and report faults as necessary.
Safe custody of building keys and key-holder responsibilities.
Reporting to Dalkia UK management any instances of unauthorised use or entry to the premises, or any damage caused.
Ensure all external areas are kept tidy including external bins.
Assist the school in the set-up and moving of materials/equipment as required.
Ensuring all defects in cleaning/maintenance equipment are reported promptly to management and/or the Technical Services Centre.
Completion of planned maintenance checks, including paperwork found in the Caretakers manual.
Raise emergency sub-contracted tasks.
Assist the Head Caretaker and the site team.
Ensure health and safety is adhered to at all times on site and any failings, concerns, accidents and near misses are reported in line with Dalkia UK policies.
Monitor BMS systems in relation to regular checks of the system and adjusting times when required.
Ensure environmental policies are adhered to.
Requirements:
Essential:
Ability to prioritise
Flexible working hours/various shift patterns
Experience in building / security / ground maintenance desirable
Excellent customer service
First-aid training
Trade experience (joinery, plumbing and general maintenance)
Desirable:
Asbestos and legionella awareness
Knowledge of computer literacy
IOSH working safely or equivalent
