Summary
We are seeking a skilled Machine Setter/Maintenance Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in Thermoforming or Injection Moulding to join our team in Wolverhampton. In this role, you will ensure the efficient setup, operation, and maintenance of production machinery, focusing on minimizing downtime and achieving top-quality output in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Machine Setup:
o Set up thermoforming machines to meet production requirements.
o Adjust moulds, tools, and auxiliary equipment for optimal performance.
o Conduct trial runs and inspections to confirm accuracy and consistency.
• Maintenance & Repairs:
o Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing on machinery and related systems.
o Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
o Replace worn parts, including moulds, heaters, and hydraulic components, to prevent downtime.
o Liaise with Suppliers to source and identify parts required
o Work with external support on installation and moving equipment
• Process Optimization:
o Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
o Implement adjustments to reduce waste and improve cycle times.
o Collaborate with the production team to refine processes and meet performance targets.
• Safety & Compliance:
o Adhere to health and safety guidelines during equipment setup and maintenance.
o Ensure wearing of supplied PPE at all times
o Ensure machines comply with regulatory standards and quality assurance requirements.
• Documentation:
o Maintain detailed logs of machine settings, maintenance activities, and repairs.
o Report recurring issues and recommend improvements to prevent future breakdowns
