Job Description
Baxterstorey is seeking a skilled and passionate Barista to join our team in Solihull. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional coffee beverages and providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso-based beverages, filter coffee, and speciality drinks
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment
- Create latte art and present beverages in an visually appealing manner
- Take customer orders and process payments accurately
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Educate customers about our coffee offerings, including bean origins and flavour profiles
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
- Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and support colleagues during peak hours
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Barista, preferably in a busy café or coffee shop
- Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and ability to operate espresso machines
- Strong latte art skills and attention to detail in beverage presentation
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems
- Food hygiene certificate (desirable)
- In-depth knowledge of coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts
